The history of the brand
Baume & Mercier is a Swiss watch company that dates back to the 1830s. The Baume brothers created a small pocket watch business and the house grew rapidly thanks to the use of high quality materials and cutting-edge technologies. For this reason they decided to move the market to Great Britain, creating the Baume Brothers which expanded throughout the English empire. The union with Mercier, who was a jeweler, came in 1912 and six years later the was created Baume & Mercier in Geneva. This collaboration brings the company to the pinnacle of success thanks to the fusion of the imaginative spirit and the aesthetic sense of the two owners who focused on the external appearance of their watches. This was crucial because Baume & Mercier entered the elite of luxury watchmaking. However, it is not an exclusively male brand. In fact, even women appreciate the unique style of the products and above all the maison fought from the beginning for female emancipation.
