The history of the brand
The brand name of Longines watches it comes from a plot of land on the right bank of the Suze River. There, 30 years after the creation of the company Longines, the headquarters of the maison was established and for that reason the company took that name. In 1867, the first watch was created Longines with crown of office that was awarded at the Universal Exposition in Paris. Ten years later the logo of Longines which will never change in the course of history, in fact it is the oldest brand still in business. The maison is inextricably linked with skiing. The first race in which he participated was in 1924 but it was complicated to take the time of departure and arrival. The company, however, continues undaunted to work on precision and in 1937 Longines builds the first timing system, from that moment the technology expands even more to the present day.
